i love getting $5 bouquets at the market every week and decorating the apartment with them. the inspiration came from the flowers that z would bring home for me. i always loved how they lit up a room and the feeling of warmth they exuded in simple spaces, such as the breakfast table. i've been tempted to pick the flowers around our apartment complex but would hate to take away from the hard work of those who planted them. so until i'm able to grow my own garden one day, these will have to do. the summer light makes the yellows, whites, and oranges all the more pretty, don't you think?

i've tried planting flowers on my patio.. to no avail. i have lots of plants.. but flowers are difficult =T
