work space.

(please excuse the disorderly disaster on my desk, i promise i'm more organized than that!)

i thought i'd share my window view from work. it really is the only good thing about being here. even then, i wouldn't mind if i didn't have to look out this same window ever again. heh

because we have such an amazing view of the mountains, we can usually see interesting weather contrasts. for instance, a month ago we watched while the skies above the mountains rolled with thunder and lightening. eventually a rainbow appeared and i kid you not, my co-worker and i stopped work for half an hour and just watched the natural phenomenon unfold before us. i was chatting with z online at the time and he couldn't believe what i was seeing.

there are other entertaining things that happen outside these windows. you can usually see a few crows cawing and observing the world below them from the pine tree on the right. also, we recently noticed a few flying bugs pecking at our windows, upon closer examination, we saw that there were a bunch of little dead bugs on the windows. our office building is completely black so they must have died instantly from the heat. it's actually pretty funny to watch.

on other days, i peer out and think, "i wish i was at the beach", "i wish i was out walking with emi", "i wish i was out riding my bike". i don't know if having a window view is necessarily a good thing in california, where the weather is great and the skies are blue (in OC, anyway). being stuck in the office is no way to spend a beautiful day, which motivates me all the more to follow the wise words of Confucius, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life".
