emi, emi, and... emi!

emi will be turning 1 in a couple of months and i want to get a cute pupcake for her. my sweet friend, erikka, somehow read my mind and brightened my day by posting this on my facebook wall:

i immediately fell in love with it and demanded to know where i could get one! unfortunately the owner is in Vancouver and the cake was intended for a bully mommy and not the actual bully. bummer! in spite of the unforunate circumstances, i would encourage you guys to check out the owner's blog because she has a lot of cute and creative (cup)cakes such as this one:

so the search for emi's pupcake continues. we were thinking of combining emi's birthday with Manaia's since they're only 2 days apart. they just had a fun playdate this past Sunday at the park, below are some pictures of their reunion:

it's so fun watching them play. because of emi's size, she has a hard time finding a friend in the complex. they're reasonably smaller (properly fitted for apartment living) and are often intimidated by the weight emi puts on them when she jumps on them.

i'm excited about celebrating emi's birthday and by combining the birthdays, i won't have to worry about emi eating the entire cake by herself! we try to watch her weight and overall health since we want her around for a long time. if any of you know of a local place that does cute pupcakes, please send me their information!
