i've been having really strange dreams lately. interestingly, i realized this morning that all my dreams have related to traveling in one way or the other.
last night i dreamt that i was at the airport to purchase flight tickets to God knows where and the nice lady behind the counter told me i had frequent flyer miles (or something?) that had earned me a free trip to various destinations! she went down a list but all i saw was "1) Hawaii". i tried to suppress my excitement as to not raise suspicion and calmly told her, "i'd like to go to hawaii please" and voila! she neatly tucked my ticket, a receipt of some sort, a brochure of some sort, and other paperwork i don't remember in a nice envelope and handed it to me. i anxiously took it and left the line. when i was alone, i looked at the envelope in my hands and written across it was "Judy's" (Judy is a lady i work with... so random). confusion struck me immediately and confliction soon after as i realized that there was a mix-up and somehow Judy's frequent flyer miles fell into my lap. ah, what a battle it was!!! of course i wanted to go and just blame it on the airline for making the mistake when Judy found out but i couldn't find myself to do it. the dream ended with me going back in line to return the ticket, which is fitting considering how my dream was crushed.
i'm left wondering if it's me who is holding myself back from traveling or if it really is circumstantial like i keep believing it is.. hm.
