Boston was more beautiful than i could have imagined. my friend marianne, bless her heart, tried squeezing in as much Boston as possible in me in the 2 days i was there. i thought she was pretty successful.
a few funny and interesting observations:
- many of the restrooms don't have toilet seat covers or paper towels (only hand dryers). mar explained that it is in an effort to "be green".
- there is a church on almost every corner.
- alcohol is not sold in supermarkets, only liquor stores.
- you must be over age 25 to purchase alcohol (though you can still drink it at age 21 in restaurants/bars)
- there are only one-way streets
- one street can have up to 5 names (it changes every few blocks)
- dunkin donuts is EVERYWHERE
- there aren't any chains there - all restaurants and stores are original
