last night marked the end of summer school and i really can't believe how quickly it went by. on the first day of class my philosophy teacher said, "if you're expecting to leave this class with answers, you're in the wrong place. if anything, you'll likely end up leaving here with even more questions." to be honest, i didn't walk into the classroom with questions - just an open mind and i learned a lot with it. each philosopher was more interesting than the one before him and i was so intrigued with each of their philosophies on metaphysics, ethics, and epistemology. i couldn't help but question which theories applied to my own life. i say it enough but it really is amazing just how much i've learned about myself throughout this whole process.
with that said, i have one week before school starts again. in that one week i will be keeping busy traveling across the country and back. this evening will mostly be spent packing for the trip and checking things off the list that i've been contributing to for the past week. it will also be spent with z and emi - telling them how much i will miss them and how much i love them. this will be the first time in our 5 years together that i will be leaving for an extended amount of time as it's usually z who is traveling for work. he's been great at helping me prepare for this - it's such a blessing to have someone support and encourage you with the things you decide to do in life - it makes such a difference.
hopefully i can keep you all posted during my travels. i don't have a laptop and something about spending time on a computer when i could be exploring a place i've never seen doesn't seem too appealing. HOWEVER, i will definitely update you all upon my return. i'm so excited to embark on this journey! thus, i'd like to end this entry with this quote:
"Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living." - Miriam Beard
