thursday marked the last day of spring semester and it was very bittersweet. a line formed after class to say our good-byes and thank-yous to a teacher whose passion and sincerity i hope to carry on in my own life. he seemed overwhelmed by all the grateful students so i decided to leave and say what i really wanted to say in a thank-you card along with a little gift, which i hope to tuck in his faculty inbox when summer session starts. before i get accused of being a teacher's pet, it really is a small price to pay considering the greater gift i received from the class (and the fact i don't pay tuition :P). what i gained was the encouragement to keep learning and to continue the battle of getting a degree, no matter the distance. in fact, i'm considering graduate school. it's far fetched, i know, but if i can keep learning at my own pace, then why not? i have nothing to lose and only knowledge to gain.
i now have an entire month off before i'm back in a classroom. i feel like a dark cloud has been lifted and am very much looking forward to the extra time i'll be permitted for walks with emi, down time with zac, and catch-up with friends and family. let the summer begin!
