"If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies."

z came rushing into the apartment this morning, urging me to come downstairs to meet our little visitor. i followed him to the hedges and there sat this beautiful creature. we stared at it in awe for a few seconds, then i quietly snuck away to get my camera. what a nice gift from God this sunday morning.

speaking of sundays, mine evolve around house chores, studying/reading/homework, and grocery shopping for the week. today is no exception. in fact, my school work appears to be overwhelming already as i sit at my desk stacked with binders and ridiculous amounts of reading material. but however overpowered i may feel, i believe the butterfly came to remind me that in the end of all this change and hard work, something beautiful will come out of it. just like a butterfly.

one of the great advantages of having emi around is being able to meet other wonderful bully owners and their families. a few months ago, we met Manaia's family and have become good friends ever since. Steve & Dayna (Manaia's humans) are the sweetest people and they have 4 beautiful children, two of which are pictured above. we try to meet at least once a month and decided that this past Sunday would be a good time for them to play.

it was the first time that the boys weren't there (steve was too tired from the graveyard shift and z was out of town) so Dayna and i just stood around and talked while her sons played with emi and manaia. having her boys around really made it a lot easier on us - it's funny how kids work that way. eventually, noah, the younger one, started posing with the dogs like, "hey tina, over here, take a picture of us." it was hilarious and beyond adorable. so that's what i did - snapped away photos of the boys and the bully girls. it was a fun Sunday morning.

another monday, another week, another day for us to greet - good morning all.

z returned home early yesterday evening and us girls welcomed him back with kisses and hugs. emi even took a nice little nap with him while i finished up studying for today's midterm.

woke up with ease this morning to dense fog. i almost made the decision to skip the morning walk but i'm glad we didn't. the fog was actually welcoming and it was nice to start the day with just me, emi, and the recently repaved black tops.
